Casa Sweet Casa!

My amigo Jason and I finally arrived home about 11 pm Weds night, tired but content! I have lost my picture cord so I will load pics as soon as I find it! I am totally leaving my suitcase on the front porch tonight, praying the freezing cold will kill any lice, scabies, bed bugs or other vermin that hitched a ride home! Last night we ran to Walmart (yes, even in CR there is a Walmart around the corner!) and got some coffee and other goodies to bring home. Today on the taxi ride to the airport one of the girls from our team met us on the street to give Jason a book. So sweet - we positively LOVE these people.

This is one of the main things we learned on this trip - here we are, at least 3 nationalities, 4 if you count Gloria as our token Mayan from Guatemala :) united under the banner of Christ - reaching out to the poor, the poor in spirit, the brothers & sisters in Tipitapa who need encouragement in a very tough community. A watching world saw Gringos working side by side with Ticos and Nicos - really a dream come true. Socio-economic barriers, color, gender, age barriers were broken down at the foot of the cross. Very cool. A rare opportunity to share God's love as ONE body. We are headed back to CR in January and another team is forming for the summer - if you want to experience community against all odds, join us as we minister to those in Los Anonos, and allow them to minister to YOU as well! Step waaaaay outside your comfort zone! If I can sleep in a hostel in Nicaragua, surely you can venture outside the US and see what God has for you! You will be blessed!
